Women Empowerment The purpose of this assignment is to support the development of a National Action Plan for Kenyan Women as part of a guiding framework for both civil society and government in actualizing commitments produced in the “Kenya Women’s National Charter ”
 
World Bank and Kenya Power June 2013 – August 2013 Gender Assessment
The purpose of the assignment was twofold: Firstly to ascertain the progress, lessons learnt and challenges experienced whilst implementing the gender mainstreaming strategy at Kenya Power (internal arrangements). Secondly, to establish how KP is responding to gender dynamics at the customer/household levels and identify opportunities for optimizing equal benefits to women and men in society. The study was conducted in three different parts of the country namely Mfangano, Turkana and Githunguri with diverse experiences with electricity access.
 
UNIVERSALIA and UN Women May 2013 – July 2013 Evaluation of Programme Supporting Gender Equality in the context of HIV/AIDS
The purpose of the assignment was to contribute to the final evaluation of the programme which was being implemented in 5 countries. Reflecting on how UN Women supported programmes supported leadership and participation of HIV positive women organisations in shaping policies, programmes and resource allocations addressing HIV/AIDs as well as the examining the capacities of the national Aids coordinating mechanisms in promoting human rights, gender equality in HIV/Aids response. Through interactive conversations with women living with HIV/AIDS concrete and relevant recommendations for scaling up interventions have been submitted.
 
 
UNIVERSALIA October 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013. This Consultcancy will involve the final evaluation of the Joint UNFPA/UNICEF Programme on FGM/C: Accelerating Change over the period of October 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013.  
UNICEF 1st September 2012- 28th February 2013 Facilitate UNICEF Kenya office develop Gender Mainstreaming Strategy and a staff capacity building program that entrenches gender consciousness, enhances accountabilities, staff motivation levels, skills and attitudes towards gender equality and women empowerment throughout the UNICEF program cycle.  
UNFPA – Kenya July 2012 Develop a Health Gender Policy for the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation & the Ministry of Medical Services.

UNICEF – Sierra Leone May 2012- July 2012 Develop a Mid-term Evaluation report of the National Gender Strategic Plan (2010-2013), including analysis of associated policies and high level plans.
Ipas Africa March to April 2012 The assignments involved conference and workshop facilitation for consultations amongst various stakeholders on strategies for implementing Health resolutions to reduce unsafe abortions in Africa.  This entailed a series of preparatory consultations to identify the existing legal and policy frameworks responding to unsafe abortions.  The following meetings were facilitated by the Managing Director, Jane Kiragu.
19th – 21st March, 2012: Regional workshop to develop strategies for implementation of East Central and Southern Africa Health Community Ministerial resolutions on reducing incidence of unsafe abortion in Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya.
4th – 5th April 2012: Sensitization Workshop for the FEMNET Board members on Unsafe abortion and its effects on Maternal Health.
18th – 19th April 2012: Sensitization Workshop on Unsafe Abortion for medical doctors associations in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Southern Sudan Women Lawyers Association February 2012 The company was recruited to facilitate a Strategic Planning Workshop to enable the women lawyers in South Sudan as well as their partners to reflect on key priorities that would strengthen their institutional capacities. Through a week long process in Juba, key themes were identified and used to help author the first Strategic Plan for the institution.
UN Women and the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission October 2011-April 2012 Responsible for supporting integration of gender and women concerns for the truth commission with a view of ensuring inclusiveness and consideration of non-traditional forms of gross human rights violations including sexual and gender based violence, social and economic violations interalia.
Review of the Action Plan for SIDA’s work against GBV 2008-2010 November 2011– January 2012 Sida commissioned an “Action Plan for Sida’s Work Against Gender Based Violence 2008-2010” and submitted the action plan to the Government in September 2007. The purpose of the assignment was to give Sida an input in order to assess if the action plan had reached its objectives and how it has been implemented, results of the work that has been done and the way forward of its work with combating GBV.
