Josephine Ambembo is the Research Associate in Satima Consultants Ltd. She joined Satima in September 2007; a graduate in Commerce, she also holds a Diploma in Banking and Finance. She has over 11 years’ experience both in public and private sector. Under the guidance and direction of the Managing Director she carries and participates in surveys, field implementation, library, quality control, report writing design, research, budget development and analysis, public relations/branding. She is also at the forefront in overseeing overall administrative functions in Satima. Her areas of expertise are in research, administration, report writing, and management. |

Gender Assessment -
The purpose of the assignment was twofold: Firstly to ascertain the progress, lessons learnt and challenges experienced whilst implementing the gender mainstreaming strategy at Kenya Power (internal arrangements). Secondly, to establish how KP is responding to gender dynamics at the customer/household levels and identify opportunities for optimizing equal benefits to women and men in society. The study was conducted in three different parts of the country namely Mfangano, Turkana and Githunguri with diverse experiences with electricity access.
On 29th November 2012 - Ms Jane Kiragu, Managing Director of Satima Consultants and member of the African Women Leaders Network from Kenya has been selected as one of the Civil Society Representatives for the Reference Group of FP 2020 – formed after the successful Family Planning Summit in July this year.
The Reference Group will comprise 18 members in total and is tasked with setting the overall strategic direction for the FP 2020 Task Team and Working Groups. In addition, the group will provide a platform for coordination and mutual problem solving among stakeholders in the field of FP/RH and Development so as to be accountable for reaching the 120 million additional women with unmet need by 2020.
